Job Description
A New Braunfels construction company specializing in commercial and residential development (that mostly takes on projects in New Braunfels, Seguin, and San Antonio) is looking for Roller Operators to join their growing team!
This family-owned and operated business, with deep roots in the community, has spent the years building a reputation for quality workmanship, honesty, and their “do whatever it takes” approach to every project! Once going permanent with the company, you are eligible for annual evaluations and raises based on performance, health insurance, and 2 weeks of accumulated vacation days!
Responsibilities:
- Operate roller to compact earth, subgrade, and sub-base asphalt surfaces
- Drive machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling subgrade to desired compaction and smoothness
- Determine speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material
- Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning and moving the machine in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
- Assist in setting up and taking down signs
- Daily maintenance of fluids and water systems check
- Determine rolling drum mode
- Have a thorough understanding of material thickness to determine rolling range
- Work with density technician to make sure density requirements are being achieved
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects
- Keep machines clean and maintained
- Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met
Requirements:
- 1 – 2 years of minimum experience using construction heavy equipment
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- Must be able to start ASAP
- Punctuality and dependability are required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Heavy equipment experience, skid steer, front-end loader, backhoe, etc.
- Hard hat required for heavy equipment
- Must be able to lift heavy objects all day
- Must be okay with working full time and possible overtime Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested
Job Schedule:
- 6AM – 5:30PM
- Mon-Fri
- Seldom Saturdays
Job Pay:
- $DOE /Hour
