Job Description
We’re hiring a Paint Prep Technician to support a busy manufacturing team by preparing materials for final painting and finishing.
This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for candidates with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and experience working in a fabrication or production setting. Apply now to join a team where your craftsmanship and focus make a visible impact.
Responsibilities:
- Support the finishing process by preparing various materials for final paint application or the next step in the production line
- Read and interpret technical drawings to understand job specs and paint prep requirements
- Sand raw materials such as steel and aluminum using hand or power tools
- Mask parts and surfaces that should not be painted
- Secure, transport, and organize parts and materials around the production floor
- Use production software to track time, materials, and job progress
- Follow procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous chemicals and waste
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines
- Participate in safety and team meetings regularly
Requirements:
- Experienced in prepping aluminum, steel, acrylic, or vinyl materials for finishing
- Comfortable using hand sanders, grinders, and other power tools
- Basic understanding of paint materials and surface preparation methods
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Physically able to stand, lift, move, and work with tools throughout the shift
- Basic computer literacy; able to track tasks using internal systems
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Schedule:
- Monday – Thursday
- 6 AM – 5 PM
Pay Rate:
- $21 - $22/Hourly
