Job Description
A local New Braunfels construction company specializing in commercial and residential development (that mostly takes on projects in New Braunfels, Seguin, and San Antonio) is looking for an Experienced Mechanic to join their company! They will be responsible for keeping up with machine preventative maintenance.
This family-owned and operated business, with deep roots in the community, has spent the past 50 years building a reputation for quality workmanship, honesty, and their “do whatever it takes” approach to every project! If a stable and family-like atmosphere is what you are looking for this is a great opportunity to gain experience and grow your skill sets while still making it home for dinner every night!
Once going permanent with the company, you are eligible for annual evaluations and raises based on performance, health insurance, and 2 weeks of accumulated vacation days!
Responsibilities:
- Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all heavy equipment independently
- Liaise with supervisor to determine their automotive requirements and communicate vehicle/ machinery defects or problems
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles/ machinery and inform supervisor of any issues
- Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested to report to supervisor
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- Maintain and clean garage equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- 25% of the time you will be asked to drive the maintenance truck to a job site to service equipment if the company cannot transport it back to the shop
Requirements:
- This company needs 1 mechanic and 1 mechanic only. They need to be able to work efficiently, responsibly, and completely on their own.
- Must pass drug screen and criminal background check
- Must be able to start asap
- 5+ years’ experience in heavy machinery/vehicle mechanics
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Hard hat required for heavy equipment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
- Punctuality and dependability are required
Job Schedule:
- 6AM – 5:30PM
- Mon-Fri
- Seldom Saturdays
Job Pay:
- $DOE /Hour
