Job Description
Family-owned heavy equipment company is looking for an experienced mechanic! Are you familiar with the asphalt paving industry? Get your hands dirty with professional-level heavy equipment used for highway infrastructure and the oil and gas industry. Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
- Determine what parts and tools are necessary to make repairs
- Complete shop paperwork
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery or automotive vehicles
- Inspect machines for faulty parts
- Analyze and diagnose mechanical issues
- Create a plan of action for all repairs
- Follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs
- Regularly clean and maintain tools and equipment
- Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace
- Input, track and maintain all maintenance data and records
- Keep machinery is in good working condition
- Track inventory and order new parts when required
Requirements:
- Must pass drug test
- Must pass background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair
- Manual dexterity
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Familiarity with common mechanic's tools, service, and diagnostic equipment
- Coordinated and dexterous
- Ability to work in uncomfortable, physically demanding positions, stand on one's feet for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Attention to detail
- Computer literate
- Excellent customer service skills
Schedule:
- 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (closed weekends)
