Job Description
A local Concrete Construction company in Schertz is seeking an experienced Inventory/Purchasing Specialist for their location in Schertz!
We provide on-the-job training as well as employee benefits such as pay every Friday, medical, dental, and vision along with 401(K) plans and paid vacations. We also offer additional bonuses for specific job positions as well as the potential for travel throughout the US.
Responsibilities
- Track and maintain consumables inventory and order/receive supplies & parts as needed/directed. Ensure the inventory system is being implemented and followed and submit process improvements to management when appropriate.
- Drive company vehicle to pick up orders when needed.
- Communicate with maintenance to ensure proper parts are ordered and received in a timely manner.
- Code purchases for expensing, and physical inventory counts, and participate in storage/organization cleanup and improvement.
- Improve record keeping, report losses to management, and reduce waste/costs and inefficiency.
- Always keep electronic and written records up-to-date and available to management.
- Request multiple bids/shop when necessary to ensure best purchasing value.
- Meet with vendors/suppliers and negotiate favorable terms/pricing and stay current with product advancements, industry trends.
- Take direction and new responsibilities as directed by management to improve efficiencies in the office/repair shop.
- Lead by example in Best Practices of inventory, storage, purchasing, record keeping, housekeeping, organization, and clear communication.
- No direct supervision of employees.
Job Requirements:
- 1 - 2 years of inventory and purchasing experience
- Must pass background check & drug screen
- Must be okay with commuting to the Schertz/New Braunfels area
- Must be 21 or older to work for this company
- Must have a valid driver’s license and cannot have any DWI’s in last 5 years
Job Schedule:
- Mon-Friday (Possible Saturdays if needed)
- 6:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate:
- $17-$19/hour
