Job Description
A local New Braunfels construction company specializing in commercial and residential development (that mostly takes on projects in New Braunfels, Seguin, and San Antonio) is looking for CDL Tandem Drivers to join their growing team!
This family-owned and operated business, with deep roots in the community, has spent the past 50 years building a reputation for quality workmanship, honesty, and their “do whatever it takes” approach to every project! If a stable and family-like atmosphere is what you are looking for this is a great opportunity to gain experience and grow your skill sets while still making it home for dinner every night!
Once going permanent with the company, you are eligible for annual evaluations and raises based on performance, health insurance, and 2 weeks of accumulated vacation days!
Responsibilities:
- Short Distance Driving (inside and within 60 miles of New Braunfels usually)
- Communicating and coordinating with the supervisor
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
- Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
- Complying with truck driving rules and regulations
- Reporting defects, accidents, and violations
- Performing daily maintenance of the truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner
- Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports
- Verifying loads for accuracy
- Turning in load tickets to the office for daily reporting
Requirements:
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
- Must have an acceptable MVR Report
- Must be able to start ASAP
- Must have some CDL Driving or experience with a Tandem vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with no manual transmission restrictions
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Punctuality and dependability are required
- Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested such as tarping, strapping down truck loads, and helping move products off the shelf
Job Schedule:
- 6 AM – 5:30 PM
- Mon-Fri
- Seldom Saturdays
Job Pay:
- $18-$20/Hour
- Averaging 50-55 hours a week!
